Thermocouple

Platinum / platinum radium thermocouple was first introduced in 1885. In this thermocouple the positive wire contains 90% platinum and 10% radium, and the negative wire contains pure platinum.
Later, other calibrations were introduced and standardized by others, and finally three main types of thermocouples including platinum and its alloys were introduced: R, S and B.
These thermocouples are commonly used in temperature measurement in the steel and metal casting industries. The choice between them depends on the temperature to be measured, the calibration of the equipment, and the type of wire available.
The type of disposable thermocouples is B, R or S and suitable for temperatures of about 1600 to 1800 degrees Celsius, which can be used in the iron and steel industry and in environments such as arc, induction and long furnaces. Because of their high cost and low sensitivity, these types are used only at high temperatures and are used in all three platinum or platinum-radium alloys with varying percentages in either thermocouple poles.

The main parts of disposable thermocouples are:

1- Cartridge: Includes thermocouple wires, quartz tubes as main wires, metal protective cap (steel, aluminum and copper depending on requirement), usually ceramic insulator sheath and connector.
– Disposable thermocouple wires are selected from high quality metals to provide precision between 0 and 3 degrees Celsius at temperatures around 1500 degrees Celsius.
– The connector provides the proper connection between the thermocouple and the lance block.
– The metal cap protects the quartz tube during measurement and prevents the scrub from adhering to the quartz tube.

2. Sheaths or Tubes: Usually made of quartz, paper (cardboard), ABS, and sometimes ceramic (or with a ceramic front sheath); below you can sample tubes made of quartz glass or paper. See. The length of these tubes can be up to 2000 mm depending on customer requirements

Advantages of disposable thermocouples
Widely used to measure metal temperature at various points through the connection to the lens block
2- High accuracy and reliability
3. Save time and lower relative costs
